I n consonance with the guidelines on the conduct of National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, Maduya Elementary School conducted the earthquake drill, March 1, 2012, which was participated in by the teachers and pupils from Kindergarten to Grade 6. S ince earthquake is an unexpected event and disastrous, everyone must be ready for it everyday and every hour to avoid or lessen the loss of life and more harm to humans. T his endeavor which was spearheaded by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) particularly Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) was done simultaneously all over the country. I n Maduya Elementary School , the Science teachers together with the principal conducted some lectures to the pupils during the flag ceremonies about the earthquake and the guidelines the pupils should follow if earthquake occurs. Afterwards, they went inside their rooms and after a while the signal was sounded for them to demonstrate the drill on how to get to the

              E very third week of November is being celebrated nationwide as Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week. This year's observance slated from November 13-19, adopted the theme, "Global Action for Healthy Communities Without Drugs".   T he theme briefly enunciates the international advocacy for the unity of various communities in the unrelenting fight to eliminate the menace posed by drug abuse to our society. M aduya Elementary School under the leadership of the principal Mr. Noel S. Ortega, headed the week-long observance. Activities undertaken included putting up of bulletin board display depicting the theme in the school; meeting with the Parent-Teachers’ Association regarding to the week-long activity; lectures in schools headed by ROHM Seminconductor and participated in by all Grade 5 and 6 pupils; film showing of the movie Thirteen ( THIRTEEN is Catherine Hardwicke's explosive portrait of teenage girls at their very worst.
